What It Is

Pogosh CDS is a structured clinical decision support system covering a broad corpus of medical conditions across emergency medicine, internal medicine, interventional radiology, surgery, and other specialties. For each condition, the system encodes the clinical reasoning an expert would apply: which labs are high-yield vs ancillary, which imaging studies to order and why, when to escalate, which specialist to route to, and how lab results change the management plan.

Unlike AI chatbots, the decisions Pogosh makes — specialist routing, interventional radiology consult rules, pulmonary embolism triage, periprocedural anticoagulation holds, emergency checks and calculators — come from encoded rules and published tables, and each one says which rule or table it used. Text the AI drafts, such as notes and summaries, is marked as a draft for the clinician to review. The system is designed for integration — developers and clinical teams embed it into EHRs, clinical apps and AI assistants through a JSON API.

Rules You Can Check

Rule-based outputs name their source: the IR consult rule, the PE triage tool, the SIR periprocedural table, or the calculator's original publication.
